Nissan partners with Dongfeng to launch new pickup truck model
The Nissan-Dongfeng joint venture recently announced the launch of a completely new pickup truck named Z9. According to information from Bitauto, Dongfeng will accept orders for this model from February and officially open for sale at dealers from March.
The Nissan Dongfeng Z9 has an overall length of 5,520 mm, a width of 1,960 mm, a height of 1,950 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,300 mm. This pickup model owns a new design language with a highlight of the fancy Z-shaped headlight cluster, combined with a grille with a trapezoidal pattern and a navigation light strip that extends the entire front of the vehicle.
Inside, the Z9 has a two-spoke steering wheel with silver controls and a small digital instrument cluster. The large infotainment screen is located in the center of the taplo, integrating most of the control functions on the car. However, the car still retains the physical buttons used to adjust the air conditioning.
Currently, the Z9 has 2 engine options including a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 258 horsepower and a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine with 190 horsepower, both of which are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Besides, Nissan Dongfeng is also developing a hybrid version of this pickup model to compete with the BYD Shark. Although many details have not yet been announced, this version is said to have a power of 435 horsepower, 800 Nm of torque, and a range of 1,100 km according to NEDC standards.
